Rides are joined where they pass nearest you.
Your whole outing, with time for stops. All rides start and finish at the Hôtel de Ville.

Rides are modelled from OpenStreetMap and terrain data and are not field-checked yet. Ranges show estimated riding time at your level’s pace; the outing budget also allows for stops. Low traffic stress includes quiet/shared streets, not just separated paths. Check current conditions before you go.

Yes, and it keeps adding lanes. Paris had 1,607 km of bike lanes and routes at the end of 2025, 31 km more than a year before. When we route trips across central Paris on the most comfortable streets, 72% of the distance is on separated bike paths, against 22% on the shortest routes, for about 8% more distance.
Big junctions and busy lanes still need care. Each ride shows its share on busier roads, so you can pick a quiet one.

The Seine on both banks, the canals, and the two woods. Our Seine loop is 20 km with 91% on bike paths and quiet streets. The canal loop takes in Canal Saint-Martin, La Villette and the Buttes-Chaumont. The two woods loop links Boulogne and Vincennes in 38 km. All 47 rides start at the Hôtel de Ville.
We pick rides from open map data, not from lists: each one shows its distance, climbing and share on busier roads, side by side.

Yes. Our quieter route there and back is 50 km with 415 m of climbing, and 60% is on bike paths and quiet streets. The steepest 500 m is 9%. Bikes are not allowed in the formal gardens, so lock up outside them.
Tired legs? RER trains take bikes outside the weekday rush, so you can ride one way and take the train back.

Use Vélib', the city's bike share, or hire from a shop. A single Vélib' ride of up to 45 minutes costs about 3 EUR, and a 24-hour pass about 5 EUR, or 10 EUR with e-bikes. Pay in the app or at a dock. For a day out or a child's bike, a shop is easier.
Only children under 12 must wear one, whether they ride or sit in a child seat. For adults a helmet is your choice. Vélib' does not lend helmets, so bring your own, or ask a rental shop when you book.

Ride on the road or the bike lane, never the pavement. Red lights apply to bikes too, unless a small triangle sign with a bike and an arrow lets you turn or go on after giving way. No phone and no headphones while you ride: the fine is 135 EUR.
Children under 8 may ride on the pavement at walking pace.
The Tour de France, which usually ends in July in Paris on the Champs-Élysées. In 2025 its last stage also climbed Montmartre three times. You can ride up the hill too: our Montmartre ride is 10 km from the Hôtel de Ville and back, with a steepest 500 m of 7%.
